Poetry – The Directors

I decided double post this on my writing and film blog.

The Directors by Trey Eddantes

______________________________

I want my films to have ….

……………the philosophical visuals of Kubrick.

……………the precision of Nolan.

……………the atmosphere of Kurosawa.

……………the activism of Lee.

……………the ensemblic storytelling of Altman.

……………the boldness of Micheaux.

……………the quirkiness of Anderson.

……………the nouvelle vague of Truffaut, Godard and Melville.

……………the nostalgia of Hughes.

……………the darkness of Fincher and the Coen Brothers.

……………the humor of Allen, Brooks and Landis.

……………the weird inventiveness of Gilliam.

……………the mystery of Hitchock.

……………the action of Woo and Bay.

……………the truth in crime of Scorsese.

……………the conspiracy in the world of Stone.

……………the throwbacks of Tarantino.

……………the adaptations of Coppola.

……………the coolness of Soderbergh.

……………the childhood wonderment of Spielberg.

I want my films to have all of these things, but most importantly I want them to have my soul.
