The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games.

Had to repost my review of the film, check it out!

Quote – Kurt Vonnegut

Our power is patience. We have discovered that writing allows even a stupid person to seem halfway intelligent, if only that person will write the same thought over and over again, improving it just a little bit each time. It is a lot like inflating a blimp with a bicycle pump. Anybody can do it. All it takes is time.’

Poetry – It’s in the water by E.L. Taylor III

It’s in the water by E.L. Taylor III

Waves moving methodically like notes on a page

Water flowing in tempo like a metronome

The tide crescendoing like an orchestra

Waves taking you on a journey of sound

The sound of water crashing like cymbals gravity moving the tide with dynamic measures

Waves blending together with the slightest of mosaic ease

Salt of the water adding flavor to the composition

Sand holding the pace like rest on staff lines

The tide flowing with rhythm combining like woodwinds and brass

Motion adding tempo and structure like percussion

Movement of all types producing awe-inspriing harmony

Quote- Secret to short story writing

“I’ll give you the sole secret of short-story writing, and here it is: Rule 1. Write stories that please yourself. There is no rule 2. The technical points you can get from Bliss Perry. If you can’t write a story that pleases yourself, you will never please the public. But in writing the story forget the public.” O Henry
